Thixotropic Agent – PasandTM THX100

PasandTM THX100 is an essential anti-sagging, anti-settling material in formulating paint systems. There are a great number of paint additives, among which thixotropic agents are particularly important.

Thixotropic agents are classified into two categories, organic and inorganic thixotropic agents. The organic thixotropic agents include not only mono component products, but also hybrid types as well as pre-activated products.

Features And Benefits

  • It prevents sagging during coating application and controls film thickness.
  • It helps with anti-settling in paint storageand easierre-dispersionofsettlement.
  • It improves brushability.

In paints - coating is required tohavetwocontradicting characteristics. Firstly, lowviscosity so that it wouldflow with ease when shear is applied to it, and secondly, enough viscosity to prevent sagging when the shear is removed. This change in viscositydesired of a coating is called thixotropy and thixotropic agents are used to makeacoatingwhichmeetsthisrequirement.
